I know at least one Ork who’s going to be THRILLED at this news. Commissar Sebastian Yarrick returns to Armageddon and to the tabletop.

The Emperor Protects! And for some folks that’s more true than for others. The Hero of Hive Hades has returned once again to fight the Orks at Armageddon. I don’t think he needs much of an introduction. So check out this announcement video and we’ll go from there.

Commissar Sebastian Yarrick returns to Armageddon with a cool new miniature that pays tribute to the Yarrick models of the past. The Hero of Hades still sports the iconic pose, raising his pilfered Ork power klaw high and shouting defiance at his foes. You’ll notice the blazing bionic eye, billowing sash, shoulder epaulettes, and distinctive hat have all carried through from earlier versions of the miniature.

Commissar Yarrick Returns

I’m not going to lie: I did actually get chills when Yarrick said “make ready” and turned to walk off. That said, I’ve got some mixed feeling overall about this one. Game Workshop did announce he died after-all.

He was also missing from Codex: Astra Militarum and so he hasn’t technically been in the game for a bit. Maybe this was all just a propaganda campaign so that he could take a vacation or something. Apparently that rumor that Angon had killed him and took his skull to wear around his neck was also greatly exaggerated.

Anyhow, it was kind of a bummer that Yarrick was gone. We never really got a more definitive announcement of his death (at least one that confirmed things and not the “…or is he?!” version we did get). But I had basically wrote him off because GW left him out of the Codex. And he’s been out for years at this point. But we’re heading back to Armageddon. And you can’t really have an Armageddon fight without Yarrick. I’m starting to think that maybe Old Bale Eye might be a “Living” Saint at this point, too.

I also wouldn’t be shocked if he’s just a reanimated corpse fueled by rage and whatever power pack he’s got on his back. In any case, he’s not dead yet. Apparently. And at this point, he’s likely one of the oldest “humans” running around the Galaxy. He was already “The Old Man” when the Second Armageddon War started. That was pre-Great Rift. At much time has passed sense the Rift happened, too. While he’s probably not as old as Dante, I’d like to read about those to interacting once again. The Chapter Master should definitely make a comment about him still being alive and kicking (or at least pinching with that Power Klaw).

Anyhow, let us know what you think about this one. Are you glad to see Yarrick return? Or do you think that GW should have just let the Old Man rest in retirement?
