Wizards of the Coast wants to know if you think D&D is headed in the right direction, among other things. Answer now in survey form.

D&D Beyond has its ‘Winter Community Survey’ up right now. And, sure, technically the first day of Spring isn’t until March 20th, so we are in the very last days of winter, technically. Part of the country is under a heat dome, and the other part is getting assailed by storms. And caught in the middle of it all? People with opinions about D&D.

WotC Wants Your Opinions

Your opinions about D&D, specifically. WotC wants to know how you feel about the direction D&D is going. And if you trust them to steer the ship the right way. Seriously, those are some of the questions you’ll find on the survey.

It is a temperature check, more than feedback focused on any one particular area. But it’s also a chance to let WotC know what’s working, what isn’t, and in one place, to leave up to 200 words of feedback at a time about what you think they could be doing better. They also ask what D&D actual play shows you watch, if any, and the usual suspects are there.

All in all, it’s just a general marketing survey. But it’s the first one of these we’ve seen in a while. And it seems to be part of a new intiative from the new folks on the D&D team.

“D&D doesn’t grow without you. The way you play, the stories you tell, and the feedback you share inspires our work every single day. D&D is at its best when it’s built with our community. Starting now, we’re launching regular surveys to check in with our players and Dungeon Masters. We want to know how you’re feeling, what’s working, and where you want us to focus next.”

It is nice to see movement actually happening in WotC. Same with the “State of the Game” from a week or so ago. Here’s hoping that it continues to be in the right direction. In the meantime, you can let WotC know what you think by taking the Winter Community Survey at the link below.

Though it is weird that the survey says it covers a variety of topics, including “your experience with recent updates” but then doesn’t actually ask any questions about that. At least at press time. You can see for yourself, though.

This winter feels like it’s lasted a thousand years. Or two days. Time doesn’t seem to have meaning anymore.
