R. Talsorian’s new splatbook is the authoritative guide to Night City during the time of the Red. In-depth is an understatement!
Listen up, chooms, R. Talsorian has a new splatbook in the works, and it is a big one. Three hundred plus pages of lore, logistics, locations, and more for the best worst city in all of Cyberpunk: Night City. In Night City 2045, you will get the ultimate guide to Night City during the “current day,” which, for Cyberpunk RED, is the eponymous “time of the Red.” Aka in the midst of the aftermath of the corporate war that saw one Johnny Silverhand (and co.) take on the Arasaka tower in a daring rescue mission, which you might have witnessed playing Cyberpunk 2077.
Night City 2045 – Coming In June
So what is in the new book? It is your guide to what is happening in Night City You’ll find a complete history of the city up to the “present day” of 2045. You’ll get all the dirt, all the secrets. Well, all the ones fit to print in the book. Night City is full of more secrets than any one person, even a blue-eyed AI inhabiting a human body, can uncover).
It’s a gazetteer stuffed to the gills with playable information. This is definitely aimed at GMs, because it’s got details on Night City’s various factions. Including street-level factions like 44 different gangs, 6 criminal organizations, and 23 “private security providers” that could probably be included in the other two categories except they have contracts with Night City’s various entities.
You also get a district-by-district breakdown of what is going on in each of Night City’s unique regions. Want to know how the corpo-rats live? Or what’s going down in the poorest of the poor places, forgotten by NCPD? This book has you covered.
And then of course, there’s the thing that I gravitate to as a GM whenever I look at setting books, there’s the locations. In this book you’ll find more than 600 locations – everything from stores and clinics, to corporate fortresses and megabuildings. Enough information to give character and life to your Night City.
It’s the kind of thing you can flip through when looking for campaign inspiration or trying to figure out what exactly is on the other end of the alley your Edgerunners just darted through, trying to make a hasty getaway from a run gone bad.
At any rate, you can look for Night City 2045 in June. I think the official release date is June 17th, with shipping expected for the physical books by June 24th. So get ready, because Night City is calling. It’s a miracle it hasn’t reversed the charges.
