Atomic Mass Games is showing off the new missions for Marvel: Crisis Protocol’s upcoming Crisis Card Pack Operation: Zero Tolerance!
Get ready for a major shake-up for your games of Marvel: Crisis Protocol because the new Character & Crisis Card Pack Operation: Zero Tolerance has some big changes ahead. There’s a new batch of Extractions and Secures with new layouts and new ways to score. There’s a lot to cover so let’s get into it.
If you choose to play through the scenario, you get to match the Crisis Cards in set combinations to go through 5 thematic and exciting scenarios that follow the storyline of an emerging anti-mutant plot among governmental entities, fighting off a surprise attack, going on the run, and eventually confronting Bastion and his Sentinels to defeat them in an epic showdown. These scenarios represent a classic Marvel universe storyline and let you experience it on the tabletop like never before.
Operation: Zero Tolerance Extraction Crisis Cards
There’s a few updates to the format of these cards that I want to point out first. For starters, note the position of the objectives and how the measuring is done now. It’s now very clear that many of these objectives are at the intersections of the ranges (in case you didn’t know that already). For the most part, these are probably very close or the same to where you were placing them before but they are just labeled differently on the cards.
Also, just in case you’re new to MCP, the boards are 3′ x 3′ and that means the centerline is 18″ which is ALSO the distance of the range 5 + range 4 tools. So if you need to find the mid-point of the board, it’s always the range 5 + range 4 tools.
Now, let’s start off with the Extractions.
The first one up is Jailbreak Leads To Mass Mutant Escape! There’s more changes to these objective tokens. For starters, these are new “Source Tokens” that have been recently added to the game. These are a new kind of Extraction token. I’m going to let AMG explain this next part:
These source tokens represent a new kind of Extraction Crisis with a token that flips over to its exhausted side when it creates another kind of token. All these new tokens are then removed from the game in the cleanup phase, and the Source Extraction Tokens are then flipped back to their “full” side, causing players to have to be able to return and interact again to continue to score as many points as possible!

Basically, characters are going to move up, interact with the Source Tokens, and then the tokens flip. You’ll get to score them but they will then flip back and you’ll have to return to interact with them again. This is a mechanic you’ll see in many of the Extracts. This is really going to force a new style of gameplan from many of those Affiliations that like to “loot and scoot” with the Extraction Tokens.
It’s also worth mentioning that many of the tokens that Source Tokens generate are limited. That means characters can only hold one at a time. With them resetting during the clean-up phase, there’s a lot of implications for these new Source Tokens when you think about it. Let’s see the rest of the Extract Crisis Cards.
Evidence of Experimental Soldiers Exposed is a new buff for the defenders holding the Evidence. It’s a “free” re-roll for one Defense die. Again this one has resetting Source Tokens as well.
Sentinel Schematics Sabotaged! is another source/reset mechanic. However, this one grants a free re-roll for the attacker if they have a Nanite and are within range 2 of their target.
Salvaged Supplies Fuel Resistance Efforts only has 2 tokens and is more of a “classic” mission with a couple of twists. First, each token is with 2 VPs. Also, it requires you to have TWO bodies near them to actually pick them up. Furthermore, if you don’t end your activation with range 2 of another allied character, you actually drop the token. This is really going to mess with folks!
The final Extract Crisis Card is Surprise Assault! Mutant Homes Destroyed and it’s got a funky setup AND the new Source Tokens. While I am very curious as to “why” the funky new setups, I’m also glad to see them because they help to make things feel fresh. That combined with the new mechanics is really presenting a challenge for teams to overcome. Characters are going to have to spend more energy to interact with the Extracts over the course of the game, you’re going to have to return to them to score every round, and teams are going to be fighting over the timing on interacting with these, too.
Operation: Zero Tolerance Secure Crisis Cards
The Secure Crisis Cards also got a few more new mechanics. We’ll tackle those as we come across them. So let’s check out these new missions!
The new mechanic for this one is that you’re going to randomly be unable to score one of the Prison Block objectives this turn. This is an interesting way to randomize as well.
In X-Men Infiltrate Secret Weapons Facility there’s a new type of Zone Token. You can see the scoring rules above and this one is super weird! I really want to play this mission to wrap my head around the scoring in this one.
Power Overload! Factory Goes Up In Flames has a (mostly) regular setup for the tokens but once again the scoring is funky. You can get bonus points for having Power Conduits that are more than range 5 away from each other. I kind of want to set this one up and see which pairs that applies to.
This secure also has a funky new setup but it provides a defensive boost when you pay 1 power. The extra defense dice will make characters tougher to dislodge for sure.
Finally, we have Assault Ships Make Sweeping Search! Which (again) has a offset deployment. It also punishes the defenders within range 2 of a token by giving the attacker a free re-roll on one of their attack dice.
Prime Sentinels
Also included in the pack are the two Prime Sentinels. These two models are basically the same character, but with two different sculpts. This breakdown is already running pretty long and we’ve seen these cards before. I just wanted to include them for completeness sake.
The short version is that these new missions combined with the fact that the Sentinels are going to be handing out Root like candy is going to make this a very interesting meta. The power management aspects of MCP are going to be a massive meta-thing to have to play around when this Crisis Card Pack comes out. And I can’t wait to see all of these new things in action! It’s currently up for pre-order and is slated to release on June 12, 2026!
