The Solar Auxilia of the Warhammer Horus Heresy are getting a new batch of reinforcements. Time for an up close look at them!
If you’re a fan of the fighting army of the Imperium, specifically during the Horus Heresy, you’re going to like these new support options. The Ogryns are coming to unleash their melee prowess, and there’s a pair of new/updated weapon platforms to lay down some covering fire, too!
Charonite Ogryn Section
The bio-enhanced Ogryns are packing a punch. I like that GW basically made them look like repurposed salvage divers. Or perhaps deep-space salvage divers. To me, it looks like they are equally at home ripping and tearing up ship hulls or their enemies. There’s plenty of cool details on these miniatures to pick out, too. I like the random ports on their armor. I do wonder what ing-ame material their suits are made from, too. I also wonder how they convinced these Ogryns to squeeze into those Void Suits to begin with!
Rapier Direct Fire Battery
I don’t think the Rapier platform is a new thing for the Solar Auxilia, but it’s still a welcome sight. This is the Direct Fire version, and it’s got plenty of options to work with. You can build it with quad gravis heavy bolters, gravis multi-lasers, or a laser destroyer. These are essentially weapon platforms on tracks. And the crew comes with them, too.
Rapier Fire Support Battery
Also coming out this weekend is the new Rapier Fire Support Battery. This one does bring out some old school favorites. You can go for the Thudd Gun but how can you resist the Mole Mortar option? This one really is a blast from the past.
Do you have a favorite kit from this batch of Solar Auxilia Reinforcements?
