This massive LEGO Star Wars Naboo hangar MOC includes thousands of pieces and several epic duel scenes.

Star Wars is a huge and popular setting. There are thousands of epic and cool locations throughout the Galaxy Far Far to explore. Of course, only a few of those locations have ever shown up on film. As such, those few locations have a special significance and often look really cool. Of all of those, an even smaller number have shown up in video games that let you really play around in them. One of those is the Naboo Palace Hangar.

The Palace Hangar, as the name suggests, was the hangar of the Naboo Royal Palace. Also known as the Theed Hangar, it was the headquarters of the Naboo security forces and the Royal Space Fighter Corps. As such, it became a pivotal location during the Trade Federation’s blockade and invasion of Naboo. It was from here that the Queen and her Jedi companions fled aboard the Royal Spaceship, and during the liberation of Naboo, a battle was fought here to gain control of the N-1 Starfighter Fleet. In the connected plasma refinery, a deadly battle between Sith and Jedi also took place.

LEGO Naboo Hangar MOC

The Naboo Hangar has been brought to life by builder BensSoloLEGO – you can find behind-the-scenes videos of the entire build here. This is a massive MOC measuring several feet by several more feet, though it’s hard to find exact dimensions. The MOC itself is based not on the movies, but on the Star Wars Battlefront II Naboo Palace Hangar map. This is a classic map from the video game that not only includes the hangar, but also part of the plasma refinery.

Ben’s build of the hangar is very detailed. It’s not just the building, but also includes the Naboo Royal Spaceship and the racks of N-1s. The plasma refiner is also very well done. Around back you have some more rooms and hallways. Impressive ligting effects also make it all pop. The build is also packed with tons of models.

Some of minifigs are set up in easter eggs or homages to the movies. However many others are more directed at the Battlefront II origins of the build. It’s a great set to look at. The Chromed Royal Spaceship is also really well done.

Abe is that rare thing, an Austin local born and raised here. Though he keeps on moving around, DC, Japan, ETC., he always seems to find his way back eventually. Abe has decades of experience with a wide range of tabletop and RPG games, from historicals, to Star Wars to D&D and 40K. He has been contributing to BOLS since almost the start, back when he worked at and then owned a local gaming store. He used to be big into the competitive Warhammer tournament scene but age has mellowed him and he now appreciates a good casual match. He currently covers Warhammer: The Old World, as well as all things Star Wars, with occasional dabbling in other topics. Abe mourned over loss of WFB for its entire hiatus, but has been reborn like a gaming phoenix with Warhammer: The Old World.
