Exciting news for fans of the Arkham Horror RPG from Edge Studios, they just revealed an upcoming bestiary, The Thompson Files.

Arkham Horror is on its way to becoming an eldritch thing of its own these days. How else do you describe something that can take many forms, and seemingly exists outside the bounds of time? Because not only is there the living card game, there’s also a board game and the tabletop RPG. And it’s this last one we’re concerned with today. Edge Studios just revealed a new sourcebook, a bestiary of strage and probably deadly creatures that you can find in The Thompson Files.

The Thompson Files – A Bestiary For Arkham Horror

This is as beastly a bestiary as you’re likely to find. Arkham Horror is full of strange and terrible new ways to die, as anyone who’s played around in its little pocket of the Cthulhu mythos knows. You’ll be pleased to know that familiar characters make a reappearance here. “Ashcan” Pete, Trish Scarbrough, and others have mentions in the files.

But if you’re playing the RPG, you’ll probably be in it for the collection of horrors. Though I will point out it’s not just a bestiary. You get a bunch of mini adventures that you can run as well, giving you the stuff you need, tailor made to be run and introduce the new terrors you’ve unearthed.

Within the 96 pages of the new book, you’ll find new creatures and NPCs presented as though you’re reading dossiers assembled by the Investigators who have been hot on the trail of whatever the latest disaster is.

“This supplement features Mandy’s collaborations with nine other famous investigators such as Silas Marsh, Trish Scarbrough, and “Ashcan” Pete as they research over 50 eldritch horrors; both infamous and hitherto unknown. In the collection of notes and documents you’ll also find each of these investigators’ own observations on these creatures’ habits, dangers, and weaknesses, as well as nine mini mysteries to help you incorporate these abominations directly into your game!”

The book is out for pre-order now (you can snag it at the link below), with a retail price of $39.99, you can grab it online, or at your friendly local game store. Depending on if they’re cool enough to carry the RPG or not.

You can look for the full release in June!
