Exalted 3rd Edition delves into the realms of the Underworld with Sworn to the Grave. Oblivion awaits to be ushered in by the Abyssal Exalted.
Exalted 3rd Edition has long been a sort of albatross around Onyx Path’s neck. If you’re unfamiliar, the epic-fantasy RPG launched a Kickstarter for its 3rd Edition about 12 years ago and has steadily been coming out ever since to the point where there have been Kickstarters for things originally mentioned in the Kickstarter. But now, at last, it seems the wheels are steadily turning – and the new Abyssals book (one of the most anticipated ones in the setting) has hit DriveThruRPG.
Abyssals: Sworn to the Grave – Exalted For Those Who Like Their Coffee Dark
From a PDF preview a dozen years ago, to an Indiegogo campaign crowdfunded this year, the Abyssal Exalted book has been a long time coming. But now, at last, Sworn to the Grave is here. And with it, the tools to usher in Oblivion by venegeful protagonists who serve the death of all things.
It’s a particularly dark book, but for fans of Onyx Path and White Wolf that’s pretty much the stock and trade. Exalted was the bright mirror to the World of Darkness back in the days when Borders Books And Music still roamed the Earth. But Abyssals was a familiar taste of that bleak darkness. Of finding the beauty in death and sorrow and angst and all its trappings. You know, emo stuff!
And in Sworn to the Grave, we get a good look at the Abyssal Exalted with a massive overhaul since the last time we saw them. If you’re familiar with the game, there’s a ton more lore: the book delves deep into the Deathlords and the Underworld, while the Abyssals get a significant glow-up. Though it’s more like a shadow-up.

They swore to bring about the apocalypse, wiping all life from the face of Creation in service to the Deathlords and Neverborn.
