Endless adventure, no GM required—these are the promises of Pathfinder Quest, live now on BackerKit with a deluxe box.
Pathfinder Quest, the cooperative adventure board game announced back in 2024, has hit BackerKit at last. And it has hit the ground running, raising more than $250,000 in its first 24 hours. Little wonder why. This box promises the Pathfinder experience in a board game box—no need for prep or a GM, your your friends, a couple of hours of free time, and a drive to descend into adventure.
Pathfinder Quest
Okay, so we know Pathfinder Quest is a “cooperative adventure board game” but what does that mean, exactly? Well, it’s one of those games that straddles the line between board game and RPG. There are a lot of RPG elements: you’ll go on a campaign of 12 different adventures threaded together with a rich narrative as you try to save the town of Falcon’s Hollow.
But, unlike Pathfinder the ttrpg, there’s no GM required. Minimal prep required (just get the stuff out of the box). All you need is the box and some players. In the case of Pathfinder Quest you can have a party of 1-4. That’s right, you can play the game solo or in a relatively full party.
The introductory scenario teaches you the rules of the adventure board game. If you’re familiar with Pathfinder, you’ll doubtless know ome of the terms, but you’ll have Quest Dice and a Challenge Book to contend with. As well as a bunch of classic Pathfinder monsters bent on wreaking havoc.
“Dead things prowl the woods around the town of Falcon’s Hollow. No longer content to rest in their graves, they stalk the living, hungry for their flesh. Worse still, the nearby volcano of Droskar’s Crag has begun to spew plumes of black smoke, threatening to cover all Darkmoon Vale in a cloud of burning ash!
The people of Falcon’s Hollow turn to you to save them! Yur four adventurers are all that stand between the small lumber town and total destruction. Do you have what it takes to track the undead to their source and defeat this dire evil before it’s too late?”
As far as what you get in the box? A lot, it turns out. There are two versions at play here. The Standard and the BackerKit exclusive Deluxe edition. And that’s the one you really want. The Standard edition comes with a bunch of cards and tokens and paper standee pawns.
The Deluxe edition, on the other hand, is full of actual miniatures. Including stretch goals that have yet to be unlocked. You also get special custom quest dice, a time tracker dial, and more. Not to mention all the add ons you can snag as part of the crowdfunding campaign. It runs for the next 30 days, so back while you can!
Pathfinder Quest is expected in 2026!
