After a successful Kickstarter Night Crew Games has announced a partnership with Asmodee USA for distribution for Cyberpunk Legends!
Back in January, Night Crew Games said in a blog post that Asmodee was going to handle their English language retail distribution for Cyberpunk Legends. But it looks like that partnership has been updated. Asmodee USA will be the exclusive distributor of Cyberpunk Legends across all retail channels in the United States.
Here’s the whole press release from Asmodee:
Cyberpunk Legends – Coming To Retail Stores Near You
First up, if you’re not familiar with Cyberpunk Legends, it’s a co-operative narrative card game for 1-4 players. It’s set in Night City in the year 2012 — so very early in the Cyberpunk timeline. While the game does have a campaign mode there’s also another “rogue-like” deckbuilding mode which also sounds fun.
Anyhow, the Kickstarter itself cracked $1.2 million in funding. But that was just the start. Reading about the distribution deal from Night Crew’s site, it’s clear they want to make this a game that’s more than just “a flash in the pan.” The exclusive distribution deal with Asmodee USA means that this game will be available in retail for new players to discover and experience alongside backers that have got in early.
That’s really good news for the backers of this game, too. While they might have gotten all their stuff thanks to being a backer, this also means that Night Crew Games can continue to work on Cyberpunk Legends. This game gets to do something cool: it gets to grow. That means future campaigns, expansions, and more are that much closer to becoming a reality.
Learn More About Cyberpunk Legends
Now, if you’re still interested in learning more about the game you can check out the Kickstarter page that’s still up. And it looks like the late pledges might still be available, too. If you’re still looking for more details then hear it from the people responsible for Cyberpunk Legends themselves.
And there’s also a gameplay look, too:
Honestly, this looks like a neat game. I really like the setting being 2012 as well because that’s such a fun timeframe to explore. The events happening in Cyberpunk Legends lead-up to the fallout and things that have repercussions in the more “modern” Cyberpunk era of 2077.
If you missed the Kickstarter or maybe you’re still playing this one safe the good news is that Cyberpunk Legends will be heading to retail soon enough. You can check it out then!
