A new comic book featuring a group of classic Dungeons & Dragons monsters working together is due out later this year. Dark Horse has announced Dungeons & Dragons: Total Party Killers, a new comic book written by Christopher Hastings, illustrated by Denis Medri, colored by Dan Jackson, and lettered by Lucas Gattoni. The series is due out for release in July 2026.
The comic will feature a group of five monsters – a lycanthrope, gelatinous cube, mind flayer, death knight, and baby beholder – who team up to free themselves from the effects of a dead wizard’s spell. Hastings is best known for his more comedic style (he notably co-created the character GwenPool for Marvel Comics and wrote the popular webcomic The Adventures of Dr. McNinja), so it’s likely this comic will have plenty of tongue-in-cheek humor as well.
Dark Horse took over the Dungeons & Dragons comics license from IDW earlier this year. This is Dark Horse’s second comic series, following a miniseries featuring The Fallbacks, a group of adventurers who have also appeared in novels and illustrations for the 2024 rulebooks.
