PIRATE BORG’s new starter set wants you to set sail across the high seas, where you’ll raid, plunder, and go down in absolute infamy.

PIRATE BORG bills itself as “The Worst Pirate RPG Ever Made” for good reason. It’s all about getting down and dirty and doing dark deeds on the open seas. Using the doompunk aesthetic and rules framework of MORK BORG, PIRATE BORG is a fast-paced RPG of plundering on the high seas. There, you’ll find undead, treasure, other pirates, and worse. People have been flocking to this one – and now you can see what the fuss is all about by taking the new PIRATE BORG Starter Set for a spin. It’s available now on DriveThruRPG.

PIRATE BORG Starter Set – Horrible Adventure Awaits

PIRATE BORG is a rules-light RPG in the same vein as MORK BORG. In a nutshell, it’s an RPG of high action and quick consequences. It’s extremely flavorful and surprisingly deadly considering how light the rules are – but that’s part of the appeal. PB is a game your pirates aren’t necessarily expected to survive. But that’s because you don’t get to be the most feared pirate on the open ocean by playing it safe.

The new Starter Set serves as a jumping off point into the rules. With a streamlined rules booklet and pregenerated characters, the Starter Set gives you a whole suite of tools to start exploring the waters of the cursed seas where zombies, cursed items, and Redcoats await.

The PIRATE BORG Starter Set includes everything you need for a group of 2-7 people to play the Worst Pirate RPG Ever Made™! Contains booklets of the Player’s Guidebook and a new adventure, Trapped in the Tropics.

The crew has been hired to locate a shipwreck on a jungle island. They’ll encounter British Redcoats, rival pirates, booby traps, hordes of zombies, and cursed relics. Designed for both brand new and experienced TTRPG players and GMs. Includes a new 2d40 ASH Experience Generator. 3-5 sessions, with 32 new monsters & NPCs!

One of my friends swears by PIRATE BORG because it lets you get right in there and start playing. The system is flexible enough to allow for the kind of pirate who just shoots someone for an insult while also giving you room to be hoisted by your own petard.

You can see for yourself in the Starter Set, which comes with enough stuff for up to six players at once, and should get you through a month or so of play (unless you meet more than once a week). Now’s your chance to live your pirate dreams!
