Holy Sigmar! The Cities of Sigmar are getting some MASSIVE reinforcements and I’m not talking just gargants.
The Cities of Sigmar might have gotten the second most news out of AdeptiCon in terms of new stuff. Seriously, they are about to shake things up in the Mortal Realms like never before. Check out what Games Workshop has cooked up for them.
Cities of Sigmar On The Warpath
First up, there’s a new Battletome on the way. That seems like a given. But what’s new with the Cities of Sigmar? Lots of new units.
Freeguild For All!
The Freeguild Grenadiers are a real rough-and-tumble type of unit. There’s a few crazy miniatures in there. One has a freakin’ Flamethrower! And of course there’s guns and grenades. Because of course there are. But there’s more Freeguild than these grunts.
The Freeguild Gallants are basically knights on foot. It was also alluded to the fact that lots of these bits are interchangeable with the mounted versions, too. So that could be great for kitbashing.
New Cities of Sigmar Characters
There’s also a bunch of new Heroes coming to the Cities roster.
Jorvan Kreel is kind of a ranger-type. He’s got his trusty uh…pet? And he’s going to be great for scouting ahead and causing problems as a great skirmish hero.
The Mallus Forgepriest is also a nod to a previous Sigmarite Priest. I appreciate the pose and the alternate head option you can go with here. There’s also a trio of wizards coming. Each with their own specialties.
Apparently Erasmus Zonn is quite good at his wizardry and was the first human to be taught by the Aelves of the Lumineth Realm-lords. He even surpassed some of his teachers. Which is kind of a troubling thing for the Aelves to admit…
New Terrain
The Dawner’s Triumph is a cool monument that the Cities will travel around. All of those coins are from fallen Cities of Sigmar members, too. So this is a triumph and a tribute to them, too.
But you’re not here to remember the fallen. You want to see the big boys…
Cities of Sigmar Gargants
Those are indeed Gargants that fight for the Cities of Sigmar. And yes, they are going to be massive. But even they are dwarfed by the newest “monsters” to take to the field.
Meet the Cogforts
I don’t really have words to describe these other than “wow.” There’s two different versions of the Cogfort. One with two really massive cannons. And another with a really big flamer and a gatehouse that a unit can charge out of! This is kind of nuts. But that’s not the end of them either. Not only are these new units for your typical CoS army, you can even take an army of Renown that’s FOUR of them! Oh and you can even ally them into ANY army. Yep. Cogforts for all.
What do you think of the new Cities of Sigmar goodies?
