Age of Sigmar has a new dual-army Spearhead box with a bunch of cool miniatures on the way. Plus Underworlds get a new warband.
The Cities of Sigmar are getting a bunch of cool new miniatures and your first crack at many of them will be in a new boxed set. This is a dual-army Spearhead box called City of Ash and it’s featuring Skaven vs the Cities of Sigmar.
City of Ash – New Spearhead Box
From what I could make out from the preview, this box will feature two Spearhead armies and all the components to play games of Spearhead. So this is kind of like a new entry point to AoS as well. On top of that, there is some new terrain pieces included in this set. I also find it funny that while 40k is finally moving away from Objective Circles, Age of Sigmar is still using them as a key part of Spearhead.
Anyhow, the new Skaven units are in this set. And by new, I mean there’s updates of old favorites and a new Deathmaster in the box.
Night Runners are back and so are Gutter Runners. These two classic Skaven units have been updated and are ready to live out their Skaven-ninja dreams on the tabletop.
I say that half-joking as the Gutter runners really do look like ninja assassins with their daggers and cloaks. Watch out for both of these units.
Additionally, I’m not entirely sure why GW showed off this older Deathmaster. I mean, it’s a cool model. But it’s not new. And I’m not sure if it’s included in the box or not. However, there’s more to show.
Perhaps the Deathmaster is just part of the Skaven Spearhead army? Or maybe he’s just hanging out until the newest Skaven character arrives.
Deathmaster Crixxit is one deadly Skaven. Apparently, he’s a blender on the battlefield with an appropriately numbered 13 attacks! I’d be on the lookout of he was in my opponent’s list.
Underworlds Warband Reveal
Thyrielle’s Zephyrites were also showcased at the Preview. Unfortunately I don’t have too much to say about them as the audio issues made the stream hard to understand. That said, I know these are Lumineth Realm-lords and they have a connection with the winds. Also, how can you fight that adorable fox creature? C’mon! That said they look like a cool warband and I’m looking forward to learning more about them in the days and weeks ahead.
Is this the return of the dual-army boxes for Age of Sigmar?
