Next week the Iron Warriors make their bid for control of the Eye of Terror in the next expansion campaign for Warhammer 40K.

The Eye of Terror once again opens up with a new expansion focusing on the Iron Warriors and their bid to take hold of the Cadian Gate and the Eye of Terror beyond. Accompanying the new narrative expansion, all sorts of thematic rules, including new rules for fighting in hellish landscapes, new Detachments for Chaos Space Marines, Space Marines, Imperial Knights, Chaos Knights, and Adeptus Mechanicus. All this, plus new miniatures, next week!

Reign Of Iron – Iron Warriors And More At The Eye Of Terror

It all kicks off with a new set of expansion books for Warhammer 40K. In Reign of Iron: War for the Cadian Gate, you’ll get three new books. The campaign book, Reign of Iron, as well as an Apocalypse book, and a Detachments book. So whatever scale you want to fight on, you can find rules for it covered here.

Accompanying the new expansion, a bunch of minis here to help the Iron Warriors carry out their conquest, starting with Kravek Morne. Morne is leader of the Iron Warriors warhost that heads up the charge – and in his armor, rife with tech-heresy, he will help rule the battlefield.

And just check out the new Defiler. This is absolutely gorgeous. It truly looks like a daemon machine. It comes with a variety of options, so you’ll feel comfortable fielding it no matter which Chaos you play. It has three different carapace options, as well as a variety of heads, and of course weapons enough to tear through the forces of the Imperium.

You can also snag a new batch of Mutilators. Kitted out for close combat, and mutated enough to make them even deadlier, you’ll have a masterful melee marauding force in a single kit. Each box comes with three.

Grab the new Iron Warriors Combat Patrol, and you can get the jump on an Iron Warriors army. With a Warpsmith, 5 Havocs with heavy weapons, 5 Chaos Terminators, and 10 Legionaries, this is the beginning of or perfect supplement to any Iron Warriors army.

The Flesh Is Weak, But Without Heresy – New Ad Mech and Detachments

Of course, for those who understand that the flesh is weak but also don’t have to be heretics about it, there’s a bunch of new Adeptus Mechanics options. Starting with the new Archmagos Thulia Ghuld. Commanding a fanatically loyal battalion of Skitarii, she is seen as the Voice of the Omnissiah – though this may be due to the sonic destruction her Jericho-class conversion resonator wreaks upon her enemies.

Accompanying Ghuld are the heavily armored Hastarii. They carry heavy weapons into battle and this box of five can be kitted out as either Exterminators or Fusiliers, depending on if you want close-range or long range firepower.

The Imperial Knights get a nice new toy: the Knight Destrier. On the Bellatus-class chassis, these are faster Knights that maybe aren’t as imposing as a Knight Questoris, but they pack more punch than an Armiger. You can mount them with chastiser gatling cannon, frag bombard, Bellatus reaper chainsword, or Thundershock spear as needed.

Then there are the Battalion boxes for the Eye of Terror, starting with the new Ad Mech box. This gives you some heavy armor in the form of an Onager Dunecrawler, a Skorpius Disintegrator/Dunerider, and an Ironstrider Ballistarius which could also be a Sydonian Dragoon. These will get you started on the new Eradication Cohort Detachment featured in Reign of Iron.

Imperial Knights roll out their own battalion box with big stompy robots. In it you’ll find a Dominus-pattern Knight which can be built as a Valiant or Castellan, along with two Armigers. This will get you started on the Freeblade Company Detachment.

The Sons of Dorn roll out in their own Eye of Terror battalion box, unleashing a Redemptor Dreadnought, Ballistus Dreadnaught, and two Repulsor Executioners. These will help make up the Ceramite Sentinels Detachment.

All this, next week!
