The miniatures category showed solid growth in 2025, with Games Workshop providing the bulk of the upward trend along with a strong finish for BattleTech, according to the company’s financials and our interviews with retailers and distributors. We estimate the miniatures business in the U.S. and Canada at around $585 million in 2025, up 7.3% from $545 million in 2024. This is an improvement in growth rate over 2024, when the market grew around 2% (see “Miniatures Largest Category to Grow”).
Games Workshop sales were up around 18% in North America in 2025, according to their financial reports. Continuing an ongoing trend, Games Workshop’s sales growth was driven by their sales to independent retailers, which performed much better than sales in their company-owned stores (see “Games Workshop Finding Growth”).
The news on other lines was mixed. Probably the most impactful trend was a flattening of growth in sales of RPG-related miniatures. The number of players new to Dungeons & Dragons was down in 2025 after the launch of the new edition in 2024, and the surge of interest in D&D miniatures more generally has slowed.
BattleTech, on the other hand, finished the year strong after being rocked by $240,000 in surprise tariffs on product that was on the water on the way to the U.S. when the new taxes were announced in April (see “Tariff Price Increases”).
Another bright spot was Steamforged Games’ Warmachine, which had its first full year of sales under new ownership. Sales continue to grow, and it’s quickly turned into the flagship of the Steamforged lines.
Renegade Games’ HeroScape and Mantic Games’ Halo: Flashpoint, which were also in their second years after launch, continued to do well.
Of the Atomic Mass Games lines, Star Wars: Shatterpoint is being wound down, while Star Wars: Legion and Marvel Crisis Protocol continue (see “Atomic Mass Restructuring”).
