Who’s this new Affiliation Intelligencia coming to Marvel: Crisis Protocol and who’s going to be included? Let’s dig into this one.

Yesterday I took a look at the Thunderbolts to figure out who could be added to that new Affiliation. Turns out there’s a LOT of characters. But on the other side of that coin, we also know that Intelligencia is coming as a new Affiliation.

So today we’re going to dive into that group to figure out who’d be a likely candidate to join them on the tabletop in Marvel: Crisis Protocol. But how are we assuming which characters should be added? That’s based on what was presented at AdeptiCon from AMG:

Watch from around the 32 minute mark…

Specifically, it’s called out that if you check the wiki pages for these two groups you’ll get a rough idea of who could be added. So that’s exactly what I did.

What Is Intelligencia

To start off, you’ll want to know what Intelligencia is. Basically, it’s a supervillain team consisting of some of the greatest (evil) minds on the planet. These are the characters that plot and plan and pursue world domination…but a lot of the times they get in their own way. Originally, they were formed by the Leader who’s aim was to “rescue” the knowledge from the Library of Alexandria.

Now, historically, the Library of Alexandria was destroyed. But in the Marvel Comics, the Eternals actually had a portion of the Library of Alexandria. And the group did actually manage to break in and steal that knowledge. Along with other various weapons and artifacts, too.

Originally Members included:

  • Leader
  • MODOK (technically he joined after the Egghead was killed by the Avengers)
  • Mad Thinker
  • Red Ghost (and his Super Apes)
  • Wizard
  • Doctor Doom
  • Egghead

Now, right off that bat, that would be an excellent line-up as an Affiliation. With one minor issue: MODOK is the only character currently in the game. The Leader (as we know) is coming soon.

So either this Affiliation is already going to be super limited or we’re going to need some team-tactic cards to change things up. Alternatively, maybe AMG is teasing us with some future character releases…

So let’s widen our search to some other members that joined later. On top of original line-up there were additional members that were added later:

  • Chameleon (who was disguised as Klaw)
  • Klaw (the actual Klaw this time)
  • Trapster

Well, we DO have a Klaw in the game. So that would make sense. Furthermore, Intelligencia is also responsible for the creation of Red Hulk as well. And we know Red Hulk is coming. Later on in their run, they also had Doc Samson and Red She-Hulk associated with them. So, again, they could cast a really wide net.

Even More Villains

On top of those characters there’s also the New Intelligencia group that was made of:

Personally, I do hope Mister Sinister gets to join the Affiliation, too. It would fit as well and he’s already in the game.

The main point here is that Intelligencia will have the Leader but there’s a LOT of villains that could and should be added to the roster and game. Personally, I do think having some more baddies on the tabletop is a good idea. Don’t get me wrong, I like my heroes! But super villain Affiliations could use some love, too.

I don’t think it’s just going to be MODOK and Leader in Intelligencia for long…
