Games Workshop really is bringing us one Grot a day for Grot Week. So here comes the Gretchin to Warhammer 40,000!

Yesterday GW kicked off Grot Week with a Grot miniature reveal. I was really hoping there would be an escalation of Grot reveals and that we wouldn’t just see 5 different Grot sculpts. Well, it’s Day 2 and uh…it’s another Grot!

It’s Grot Time!

Grots may be scrawny and cowardly, but don’t turn your back on these thievin’ scavengers, or they’ll nick all your best loot (and claim those all-important objectives!) Where his mate yesterday was braced and ready to fire, this one is skulking across the battlefield – he’s clearly eyeing up some loot.

Grot Week Day 2 – Another Grot Reveal

To Games Workshop’s credit, it IS a different Grot. I do like the sculpt but I also think the paint job is doing a lot of the heavy lifting. I’m still kind of up in the air about how to feel about this whole theme of Grot Week though. These are “just” Grots after all. And I’m sure GW has tons of sculpts of them ready to go because you need to have so many Grot miniatures for them to be effective on the tabletop.

Oh well, I’m still hoping that by day 4 or 5 we see a BIG Grot reveal and not just 5 straight days of regular Grots. At least you can add another Grot stamp to your collection.

Today’s Grot invested in a hair squig instead of a helmet. We’ll have to see how that tactical decision plays out for them on the battlefield. Also note that he’s got a much different gun than his Day 1 cousin. I wonder if the Grots are going to have different weapon profiles or if they are just going to stay as “Shootas” like most Orks. I guess we’ll find out more when the Box and the rest of the miniatures get revealed.
