Games Workshop is offering up a ton of digital downloads to support the launch of the new edition of The Horus Heresy. More is in store!
New editions of a game can be an exciting time. They can also be worrisome for people who already had “all the things” from the previous edition. You might just want to dust off your older stuff and bring it to the tabletop. Thankfully, GW has you covered. Get your rulebook and your respective Liber book and you’re all set.
The Liber books are quite expansive. But even they don’t cover everything. There’s also the “missing” Talons of the Emperor book. But don’t worry, GW has plans.
“The first five months of the new edition will bring considerable digital support, covering forces across the Age of Darkness, from the vengeful strikeforces of Shattered Legions, to the malign incursions of the Daemons of the Ruinstorm. There will also be rules for Zone Mortalis Battles, bringing this compact play experience bang up to date.”
Horus Heresy Digital Downloads
As you can see from the Roadmap above, when the game launches you can expect a PDF for the Talons of the Emperor. It’s also worth noting that the Legacy miniatures are also supported. And if you’re worried about using them at events, don’t be:
As you can see, Official Warhammer-run events will allow you to use those miniatures with the supported rules. Games Workshop has digital drops planned all the way until November. This seems like a great way to roll out the new edition. When you combine that with the Journal Tactica coming out, the Horus Heresy roll-out sure does seem like GW is putting a lot of effort into it.
Oh, and let’s also remember there’s more miniatures coming. We’ve got more MkII armor sets coming for Assault Marines and also Breachers. And then there’s the Fellblade Super-heavy, too.
If you’re a fan of the Horus Heresy you’re going to want to stay tuned. Games Workshop isn’t going to let this Horus Heresy edition be a one-and-done release. There’s loads more on the way!
Are you ready to muster your legion once again for battle in the Horus Heresy?
