Games Workshop has just dropped a reveal of a post-ascension Daemon Primarch Perturabo in Warhammer 40,000! Sort of.

Leave it to Games Workshop to tease us all with a massive reveal. This time it’s for the Daemon Primarch Perturabo in the “modern” Warhammer 40,000 universe. However, it’s not a new miniature; it’s artwork. But if this is the case I can only imagine how the miniature could turn out.

Setting the scale of the art aside for a moment, uh…WOW. THis is kind of bonkers. I mean just LOOK AT HIM.

He’s got enough guns strapped on him to make an Ork Gargant blush. This artwork is also very different from a certain “leaked” image of a Perturabo miniature (which, at this point, I think we can call a fake). On top of that we’re also getting a bit of lore about him coming to the battlezone, too.

Perturabo Returns …Soon?

Battle by battle, the Infinite Citadel will creep towards Terra, leaving no foe behind that might disrupt the plans. When significant resistance comes to stop them, they will simply dig in and claim the defender’s advantage.

Most importantly, the carnage and horrendous body count suffered in these pitiless battles serve to please the Dark Gods further, and soon the veil between realspace and the Empyrean will be thin enough that the Daemon Primarch can finally walk upon Imperial soil again at will, and drop the killing blow in person.

So it’s being spelled out right there pretty plainly that the Daemon Primarch isn’t back yet. But his looming shadow is certainly uh…looming. Perturabo has plans that are unfolding like a war-driven Rube Goldberg machine. This massive siege and all the bloodshed are basically paving the way for the Primarch’s full return. I’m honestly curious to see how this one pans out.

On top of that, I was also noticing some odd artwork from the GW team. Check this piece out:

So in this piece we’ve got the Iron Warriors. But who are they fighting? To me, it sure looks like other Chaos Space Marines. At first, I saw the Eye of Horus and thought “oh wait, maybe this is just some Heresy Era art.” But no. It’s not. If the tusk-ful Terminator doesn’t give that away then the brand new version of the Defiler sure does!

Why are the Iron Warriors taking out what appears to be Black Legion Chaos Space Marines? I have no idea! At the same time, I’m not really surprised about the Chaos infighting to be perfectly honest. That’s the main reason that Chaos always seems to fumble the ball at the goal line. This might just be more “plans within plans” type of backstabbing stuff, too.

Oh well. They don’t call it the Eye of Terror because it’s a fun, happy place filled with bros hanging out for fun…

Perturabo tease? Check. Perturabo miniature release? Not so much.
